The Whoopee Party Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932).
When Mickey and friends have a house party, Minnie plays the piano as the guests dance. Meanwhile Mickey, Goofy, and Horace Horsecollar prepare snacks and refreshments, which is brought out to much fanfare and ballyhoo. The party goers immediately devour all the food and continue to dance when a band forms and plays Scott Joplin's The Entertainer. Mickey dances with Patricia Pig as the party crowd all cry "Whoopee!" From this scene we have a terrific animation drawing of Mickey dancing with Patricia. You can see this image around the 3:00 mark in Walt Disney's The Whoopee Party. This Wilfred Jackson directed short film was released on 9/17/32 and features Walt Disney as the voice of Mickey Mouse. The drawing was rendered in graphite on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. 2-peghole animation paper is characteristic of animation done at the Walt Disney Studios during the 1920s and 30s. The image area measures approximately 7" x 4" with Mickey standing 3.5" tall. The piece has a small tear in the top of the page well away from the image and slight toning of the paper due to aging. The artwork is in Very Good condition.
