Description
The Whalers Mickey Mouse and Rope Pulley Original Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1938). The Whalers is one of the top three Disney boat shorts along with Boat Builders and Tugboat Mickey, directed by Dick Huemer and David Hand. The short follows Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as they crew a whaling ship. They try their best but things quickly go awry, as they often do with this comical trio. These dynamic 12 field 5-peghole drawings feature Mickey pushing the lever for the rope mechanism and the mechanism itself. Both drawings are skillfully rendered in graphite with color pencil. This scene with Mickey can be found at about the 7:09 mark. The first figure measures about 4'' x 4.25'' and the second measures roughly 5.25'' x 3.75''. Both drawings in this fantastic sequence are numbered 58 in the bottom right corner with minor edge and handling wear and light age-related toning. They are in Good to Very Good condition.Auction Info
