Description

The Tortoise and the Hare Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935). Here is a terrific animation rough from the 1935 Silly Symphony retelling of the classic Aesop fable starring Toby Tortoise and Max Hare. In traditional animation, the first drawings are called "roughs" or "rough animation". If the animation is successfully pencil tested and approved by the director, clean versions of the drawings are done. In this rough drawing Max Hare stand 5" tall, rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field animation paper. The piece is framed to 16" x 16.25" under Plexiglas with a matboard aperture of 7" x 7". Frame sold as-is. Mild age-related toning. Condition is Very Good.
