    The Three Little Pigs Studio Illustrations Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1933). This Burt Gillett-directed cartoon came out on 5/27/33. It won the Academy Award for Best Cartoon, and had three theatrical sequels. The short was voted number 11 in the great Jerry Beck book, The 50 Greatest Cartoons. In 2007, it was selected for preservation for the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. This is a pair of stylized and detailed original studio art pieces that were used for children's books released in conjunction with this film. The 1948 Little Golden Book had similar black and white images. This is a pair of original art pieces of the Big Bad Wolf and the Little Pig who lived in the house of straw. Graphite and charcoal on light board of 7.5" x 7.5". This great Disney book illustration art is in one common mat of 18" x 10" with double apertures of 6" x 6". Al Dempster illustrated the 1948 Disney Little Golden Book and this may be his artwork. Minor handling and edge wear. Overall condition is Very Good.
