Description

The Sword in the Stone Madam Mim Pair of Rough Animation Drawings (Walt Disney, 1963). "Rule one, no mineral or vegetable. Only animal." Presented in this lot is a beautiful pair of 16 field 3-peghole rough animation drawings of the magnificent Madam Mim from The Sword in the Stone! Voiced by Martha Wentworth and animated by Disney Legends and four of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Milt Kahl, Frank Thomas, John Lounsbery, and Eric Larson, Mim was the wizard Merlin's greatest rival. You can find the first graphite with color pencil animation drawing at about 1:04:51 and the second at about 1:04:56, both during the sequence when Madam Mim explains her rules for she and Merlin's duel - rules that she almost immediately breaks. The large drawings are about 7.5'' x 8.5'' and 6.5'' x 7'' with the second nicely centered on the page. The first is marked for Scene 10 and Sequence 13.1 and is a key drawing marked 3. The second drawing is noted 129. With only light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning, the lot is in Very Good condition.
