Description
The Shaggy Dog Original Illustration (Walt Disney, 1959). We have in this lot a phenomenal original illustration featuring the titular Shaggy Dog from Disney's 1959 live-action film that featured Fred MacMurray, Tommy Kirk, Tim Considine, and Annette Funicello,The Shaggy Dog. The comedy film is based on the 1923 novel The Hound of Florence by Felix Salten and was directed by Charles Barton and produced by Walt Disney in collaboration with Bill Walsh. The titular Shaggy dog is featured in a relaxed pose in this original picture, attributed to Bob Moore, created in gouache and ink and measuring an image size of 10" x 11.5", and has inscribed in the bottom edge "Walt Disney's "Shaggy Dog"" on the left and "An original" on the right. This lot is originally from the colection of Walt Disney Studio executive, Bob Dorfman. This great illustration is presented on a Plexiglas-fronted 19" x 22.5" frame with a 10.5" x 14 mat opening. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
