The Robber Kitten Ambrose Animation Drawings Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1935). Ambrose loves to dress up and pretend to be a robber named "Butch," in this Silly Symphony short directed by David Hand, and first shown in theaters on 4/20/35. Here's a sweet sequence of four original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings, all in graphite with added green pencil highlights for his eyes. Here, Ambrose has jumped out the window and made away with a bag of cookies; he's riding his stick horse when Mama Cat calls out to him from the open window. The drawings are numbered in the lower right as #2 (image size 4.5" x 2.75"); #8B (image size 3.5" x 4" plus a few small dust clouds as he reacts to his mother calling out to him); #13B (image size 3.5" x 5.5" with added red motion lines from his airborne hat); and #15 (image size 4.75" x 2.5" as he heads on his way again, soon to meet up with Dirty Bill, a real robber). There are a few fold creases in the first drawing, over the pegholes but away from the images; overall, condition is Very Good to Fine, with very minor handling wear.
