Description
The Riveter Bad Pete Rough Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). "Riveter Wanted." Hoping for a quick replacement at his work site, the cantankerous foreman Bad Pete makes an ominous appearance in this original rough animation drawing from the Donald Duck short The Riveter. This Dick Lundy-directed one reel debuted on March 15, 1940 set amongst the high steel beams of a skyscraper's construction site. More commonly known as Peg Leg Pete in his theatrical appearances, here Pete serves as Donald's antagonistic supervisor with a rare character design giving him both of his natural legs and feet. Seen early on near the 0:47 timestamp, Pete steps through a large hole in the fence to setup his job posting sign with near mechanical force. He has been rendered loosely in graphite over red pencil to a half-figured character size of approximately 5.5" x 3" nicely centered on the 12 field 5-peghole animation sheet which is numbered 212 in the lower right. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning, minor smudging/staining, superficial surface wrinkles, and minor corner creasing, overall this menacing site manager is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
