Description

The Rescuers Preliminary Storyboard Drawings by Ted Berman Group of 285 (Walt Disney, 1977). "R-E-S-C-U-E, Rescue Aid Society! Heads held high, touch the sky, you mean everything to me..." Presented in this lot is an outstanding collection of storyboards from the 1977 Disney film The Rescuers. Included in this lot are 285 (Wow!) preliminary storyboards pieces created by the great Ted Berman (1919 - 2001) that were used to plan the sequence of events seen at the beginning of the movie. They show the delegates of various countries as they gather in the headquarters of the Rescue Aid Society, an organization of mice dedicated to rescuing children in trouble. These amazing storyboards, created with ink, graphite, and artist markers on studio bond paper, feature spectacular images of Bernard, Bianca, and a great array of Rescue Aid Society mice, as they prepare to hear about the orphan Penny. One of the storyboards even presents a cameo of Mickey Mouse in a stamp, small but fun detail that changes in the movie, with the famous mouse showing up in a watch at the 06:58 mark. Overall, the storyboards present some normal handling wear from production, with some showing pinholes and light staining. The overall condition is Good to Very Good.
From the Legendary Disney Storyboard Artist Ted Berman Archive.
