Description

The Rescuers Original Storyboard Art Group of 700+ by Ted Berman (Walt Disney, 1977). The beloved tale of The Rescuers comes to life with this extensive, outstanding group of over 700 original storyboards! The storyboards were created by Ted Berman (1919 - 2001), who co-directed The Fox and The Hound and The Black Cauldron. Berman also helped to animate films like Fantasia, Sleeping Beauty, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and provided additional story for The Rescuers. The storyboards in this lot were incredibly important in visualizing the script and deciding the framing, positioning, emotion, and camera location for any given scene. There are over 700 storyboards in this lot that are beautifully rendered in graphite, ink, and artist marker and were primarily created for the opening sequence with the Rescue Aid Society, Bianca and Bernard getting caught in the drapes, and the pair of mice as they are chased by Mr. Snoops and Madame Medusa. These scenes start at about 4:36, 46:50, and 48:53. Approximately four storyboards in the lot are studio storyboard prints, and there are a few pages of notes. The lot also comes with a production folder with names and the production written on it. All are rendered on paper with the largest page at about 6'' x 8'' and are a spectacular find for collectors of the film and the dedicated animator, writer, and story artist Ted Berman. Good to Very Good condition overall with light edge and handling wear, minor debris, pinholes from studio use, and faint creasing.
