DescriptionThe Practical Pig Big Bad Wolf Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1939). In The Practical Pig, Fiddler and Fifer are caught by the Big Bad Wolf while swimming. But things backfire when the wolf tries to get Practical Pig; he is caught instead. Practical Pig uses his new lie detector to get the information about his two brothers from the wolf. The Practical Pig is a Silly Symphony short that debuted on 2/24/39. It was the only Silly Symphony cartoon to be billed as a "Three Little Pigs" cartoon. It's also the final Silly Symphony to feature the Three Little Pigs, Big Bad Wolf and the Three Little Wolves. The Practical Pig was directed by Dick Rickard and features the voice talents of Billy Bletcher as the Big Bad Wolf and Pinto Colvig as Practical Pig. Animation was done by three of "Walt's Nine Old Men", Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston, and John Lounsbery along with Preston Blair, who happens to be the brother in-law of Disney Legend Inductee, Mary Blair. From The Practical Pig we have a superb sequence of three drawings featuring the Big Bad Wolf as he waits outside of Practical Pigs house. You will see these images around the 4:45 mark in this short subject film. The drawings were rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper with the wolf measuring 6" x 5.5". Mild toning of the paper due to aging. Condition is Very Good.
