The Pet Store Mickey and Minnie Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). The world was gorilla crazy in 1933. The hit film King Kong came out that year as did this Wilfred Jackson directed short. In it, Tony the pet store owner asks Mickey to watch his shop while he goes to lunch. Minnie arrives and while she and Mickey promenade through the shop, Beppo the gorilla breaks out of his cage and snatches them up. You can see this exact scene at the 5:00 minute mark. A parody of King Kong ensues with Minnie playing the part of Fay Wray. This is magnificent graphite drawing of Beppo holding Mickey and Minnie and it practically fills the 12-field, 2-peghole animation paper, measuring 6.25" x 10" overall. The number 189 is written in the bottom right corner. The paper shows minor handling and edge wear; otherwise is in Fine condition.
