    Description

    The Opry House Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1929). The Opry House is only Mickey Mouse's fifth theatrical cartoon. It was co-directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Ub did almost all of the animation in this short, while Walt Disney once again provided the voice for Mickey Mouse (he only whistles here). This short came out on 3/28/29 and was the second Mickey Mouse cartoon released in 1929. In the cartoon, Mickey is the owner of a small theater/opera house. This is a rare 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing from this cartoon's opening scene, when Mickey is dancing with the broom to the music of "Yankee Doodle Dandy." There is a poster on the theater wall with Minnie Mouse on it, and it reads "Yankee Doodle Girls." You can see this exact image of Mickey going around in a circle on the broom around the :50 second mark. What a beautiful smile on Mickey's face! Graphite image, with a figure size of 4"; the number 353 is written on the bottom corner and a blue stamped 21 is on the reverse. This piece is attributed to the hand of Mr. Ub Iwerks (1901 - 1971). Minor handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition.
