    Description

The Old Mill Mother Duck, Duckling, and Frog Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). A stunning publicity drawing of the mother duck with her ducklings and a frog, with the "Old Mill" in the background. This Wilfred Jackson-directed short was the testing ground for new advanced animation techniques and was the first to use the Disney Multiplane camera. The short also proved to be a great testing ground for complex lighting and color effects, and showcased how to animated such things as rain, wind, lightning, ripples, splashes, and reflection. Innovations from this short were then used to produce the animated feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is the original studio publicity artwork used for press kits, black and white publicity photos, and as elements of the movie posters and lobby cards. Possibly from the hand of Hank Porter or Tom Wood. Done in blue with graphite highlights, on trimmed 10" x 12" paper. One of the most detailed pieces of artwork we have seen from this Academy Award-winning short. In Fine condition.
