    Description

The New Batman/Superman Adventures "Mad Love" Arkham Asylum Production Background Set-Up (Warner Brothers, 1997). Here's a spooky view of Gotham City's imposing Arkham Asylum, as seen from the outside gate. It's from the animated "Mad Love" episode showcasing the origins of the Joker's sidekick, Harley Quinn. Arkham Asylum plays an important role in the Batman legend, and this important piece is stunning in it's own right. It's a hand-painted production background with the gate and falling leaves painted on an acetate overlay. The image area measures 11.5" x 9.5", tastefully matted to an overall 18" x 16". Includes a WB Certificate of Authenticity.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
