The Milkman Flip the Frog Animation Drawings Group of 12 (Ub Iwerks/Celebrity Pictures, 1932).
A new character is introduced in this Flip the Frog short animated by Ub Iwerks (1901 - 1971) -- an unnamed Orphan Boy that Flip encounters when he and his mule Orace are out delivering milk. Orphan Boy starts out as an obnoxious brat, wailing, breaking milk bottles, and blowing raspberries when Orace tries to amuse him, but later calms down and is seen in several more cartoons. Here's a rare set of original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings from this early short, including a production drawing (numbered 1 in the lower right) with the very first full-figure image of Orphan Boy, as seen at the 3:18 mark. There's also a layout rough of Orphan Boy sitting by the garbage can he lived in with Orace trying to cheer him up; a rough of Orphan Boy begging Flip not to leave him behind; a tight size drawing of the boy (in a fragment drawing); two pages of roughs of Flip, with a sketched-in girlfriend; and five pages of the cow Flip milks at the beginning of this cartoon. Art is in graphite, with added red pencil highlights on two. Incidentally, this is one of Flip's infamous "curse word" cartoons; in the ending, Flip and Orphan Boy sing "Hail hail, the gang's all here" and Orace replies "What the hell do we care?" Paper shows some minor toning, with small tears, handling and edge wear, and a few minor stains; overall condition is Fair to Good.
