The Mail Pilot Mickey Mouse Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). Neither rain, nor sleet nor gloom of Peg Leg Pete will deter mail pilot Mickey from his appointed rounds. This David Hand-directed short was released on May 13, 1933. The same storyline was used for the daily Mickey Mouse newspaper comic strip which ran as a serial from 2/27 to 6/10 of that same year. This is considered a classic early Mickey Mouse short and original drawings from it are highly sought after by collectors. The 5" x 2" drawing is rendered in graphite with yellow and green pencil on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper and is numbered 4 in the lower right corner. The paper also bears color notes, animation notes and scene number. The paper shows light handling and a few smudges; otherwise condition is Very Good. The piece is framed under glass with a mat opening of 11" x 9" in a 17.5 x 15.5 frame which is sold as-is.
