Description
The Mail Pilot Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1933). Mickey may have finally stopped Pete, but he's still in for a rough landing! The sequential trio of spectacular 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings in this lot were created for one of Mickey's best early shorts The Mail Pilot, released on 6/13/1933 and directed by Dave Hand. Animators who brought Mickey's daring mail delivery through rain, sleet, and scorching sun to life included Les Clark, Hamilton Luske, Jack Kinney, Ed Love, and Roy Williams. The mouse finally arrives at his destination with Minnie's chest of money safely secured and the nefarious thief Pete finally defeated after trying to steal his precious cargo. Pete rolls down the runway in the aftermath and rips the body of Mickey's plane off in the process. These drawings showcase every detail of that process, whether you're looking at the ripping metal, the plane's broken wing, or the chest of money tucked inside the plane's frame. The full figure drawings appear starting at about 6:29 in the theatrical short and are enormous on the page where they range from around 8.5'' x 5.75'' to 11.25'' x 4.5''. Numbered 140, 178, and 191 in the lower right corner, these historic animation drawings are in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint age-related toning, and an erased area on one page.Auction Info
