The Mail Pilot Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing Sequence of 2 (Walt Disney, 1933). Mickey Mouse the mail pilot barely reaches his destination with only the frame of his plane, complete with a makeshift propeller created from a farm windmill. This is an outstanding and rare sequence of two original animation drawings from the 1933 David Hand-directed theatrical short The Mail Pilot. The short tells the story of the pilot Mickey as he is tasked with delivering precious cargo, and his madcap encounters with Pete the mail bandit on the way. Large and detailed, these incredible drawings are rendered in graphite on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper, and they were created for the moments seen at the 6:53 and 6:55 marks of the film. The drawings measure a substantial 11" x 4" and 6.25" x 3.75" on the sheets. The drawings are numbered 163 and 190 in the lower right corners, and each piece shows minor handling and edge wear with some toning around the edges. The second drawing has a small tear on the bottom edge, and the sheets are delicate and brittle due to age. Great original 1930's animation art, the condition of this unbelievably rare sequence is Very Good.
