Description
The Mail Pilot Mickey Mouse and Pete Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1933). When bad guy Pete harpoons Mickey's airplane as he attempts to get at that chest of money, Mickey turns the tables on him! This original sequence of three 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings show Mickey landing his plane; the rope behind him is dragging Pete through a batch of cactus plants. The first drawing is of Pete as he snags Mickey with a harpoon, but Mickey's reserve is too strong; this is a large image of Pete in his bat-like plane measuring approximately 10" x 4.25" and the drawing is noted as 102 in the lower right. The next image in this sequence is numbered 8 and has Mickey setting the plane down at about the 6:50 timestamp with an image size of 4.25" x 2". The final drawing is of Mickey's plane as he turns around to land; Pete is caught up in the rope along with several bells from the bell tower Mickey dragged him through. The image of Mickey and his wingless plane is from the 6:51 mark and measures 4" x 2.5"; the drawing is noted as 27. All three images are in graphite; the last drawing has a small red pencil highlight in Mickey's makeshift propeller. A "WOW" sequence for sure!
