The Mail Pilot Mickey Mouse and Peg Leg Pete Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1933). Mickey and Pete battle it out in the clouds in this Dave Hand-directed short which has proven to be one of the most popular early Mickey Mouse theatrical cartoons ever. In the course of delivering a chest of money, Mickey pilots his mail plane and in doing so encounters bad weather, dangerous mountain passes and ultimately air pirate Pete. The story was later adapted to the Mickey Mouse newspaper comic strip and a Big Little Book. Here is a pair spectacular original 12 field animation drawings from the fight scene between Mickey and Pete. In the first drawing, seen at the 6:43 mark, Mickey lands his plane. The art is in graphite with added red and yellow pencil highlights, and has a fantastic, well-centered image measuring 9" x 5". The second drawing features Pete in his plane from the 6:17 mark and is rendered in graphite, with an overall image size of 11.5" x 6.5". Both drawings are on 12 field 2-peghole paper and are numbered 8 and 88 respectively. Mild paper toning with handling wear,Condition is Very Good.Auction Info
