Description

The Little Mermaid Ursula Animation Drawing Sequence of 5 (Walt Disney, 1989). "Keep singing!" Ursula's plan couldn't have gone better, and Ariel's voice is almost hers. All the little mermaid has to do is sing, and the sea witch encourages her to do just that in the stunning sequence of five vertical 16 field animation drawings in this lot! Ursula, inspired by the drag queen Divine and voiced by Pat Carroll (1927 - 2022), was animated by incredible artists like Ruben A. Aquino, Nik Ranieri and Kathy Zielinski. She has long been after revenge and is manipulating King Triton's youngest daughter to get it. Ariel has already signed the contract and now Ursula only needs to complete the spell at about 44:48 to set her plan in motion. The villain is as expressive as ever in these graphite with color pencil drawings and ranges from about 4'' x 4'' to 4.5'' x 4.5''. There is a dialogue note of 'p' on one page for the above quote and the drawings are numbered 5, 9, 13, 18, and 27 with a handful of notes that give additional insight into Ursula's animation for this tense and dramatic scene. Disney villain fans, this lot is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint toning at the edges.
