Description
The Little Mermaid Sebastian Animation Drawings Set of 8 (Walt Disney, 1989). "Ariel, listen to me. Life under the sea is better than anything they have up there." This is just one of the many times poor Sebastian will try to convey words of wisdom upon Ariel in the 28th Disney animated feature film, The Little Mermaid. The film tells the story of a mermaid princess named Ariel who dreams of becoming human, after falling in love with a human prince named Eric. Her father, King Triton has given Sebastian the task of keeping an eye on Ariel and keeping her out of trouble. This popular character was voiced by Samuel E. Wright who would go on to be nominated for a Tony Award for his role as Mufasa in The Lion King on Broadway. This is an incredible set of eight 12 field animation drawings of Sebastian. The drawings are from Sequence 11/Scene 36 and show Sebastian in one of his many lectures to Ariel. These drawings were created using graphite and blue pencil on 3-peghole animation paper. The drawings are numbered 1, 16, 17, 21, 23, 25, 31, and 33. This is some early animation done for this film which is considered very rare. Minor handling and edge wear; otherwise, the artwork is in Good condition.Auction Info
