Description

The Little Mermaid "Poor Unfortunate Souls" Ursula Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1989). "Now, sing." From Disney's out of this world 1989 feature The Little Mermaid, we present four picture-perfect 12 field animation drawings of Ursula! She finally has her moment of victory after convincing Ariel to sign her contract. The spell has been cast and now all the little mermaid needs to do is sing. Ursula, in a menacing voice only Pat Carroll could bring to life, tells Ariel to sing as she's bathed in an eerie green light and a whirlpool roars to life around her. The drawings have been meticulously rendered in graphite with color pencil and appear starting at about 44:39 in one of the most gripping scenes of the entire film. The figures range from approximately 9.75'' x 9.5'' to 8.25'' x 9'' and are everything we love about Ursula with her power, attitude, and body language oozing from every line. The pages not only have a dialogue note in the upper right of each, but two also feature animators notes for clean-up and positioning of the character for the scene. You get the first drawing in the sequence with this lot, as well as drawings 3, 5, and 15. Good condition overall with light handling wear, faint edge toning, a rust mark from a paperclip, and an edge stain on one page.
