The Little Mermaid "Part of Your World" Ariel Animation Drawing by Disney Legend Glen Keane (Walt Disney, 1989). "Betcha on land they understand. Bet they don't reprimand their daughters..." We are proud to present a stunning 12 field 3-peghole animation drawing from the iconic "Part of Your World" musical sequence in The Little Mermaid. Ariel's animation was supervised by Disney Legends Mark Henn and Glen Keane and this iconic drawing was created by the latter, who has had a prolific animation career with nearly four decades at the studio. He began working there in 1974 after graduating from California Institute of the Arts and created and animated some of the studio's most iconic characters until the release of Tangled in 2010. He has continued his creative endeavors since, working with Google, the Paris Opera, and Sony Pictures Imageworks. The drawing in this lot is marked as a key drawing or animator's extreme with a circled 1 in the upper right and is the coveted first in the sequence, brought to life in a way only Keane can. You can find this expressive drawing of Ariel at about 17:11 as she yearns for a different life on land. She measures approximately 6'' x 7.5'' with the dialogue note "Don't" and a note that reads "Watch closely, subtle cheek and jaw squash and stretch". The drawing is a timeless piece of the Disney Renaissance and is in Very Good condition with only light edge and handling wear.Auction Info
