    Description

The Little Mermaid Layout Drawings and Effects Drawings Group of 20 (Walt Disney, 1989). "...out of the sea, wish I could be ...part of his world" sings Ariel as she longs to be human and with Eric. At the end of the song, Sebastian, who is keeping an eye on Ariel as he was ordered by King Triton, pops out, and slips, then rips the table cloth and is covered with jewelry. Flounder scares easily, and is prone to panicking under stressful situations so as usual he is spooked and heads into a suit of armor helmet. This is a great series of four layout/story sketches of the scene. In the drawings we see Flounder swim into the helmet and then peek out from the mask of the helmet. This amazing set of sketches give us a lot of insight into the development process. Artwork from this movie is considered very rare. In this lot we have sixteen effects drawings and helmet drawings done for this scene. The work was created using graphite with blue pencil highlights on 16 field animation paper. Minor handling wear, edge wear and small water stains on the tips of the corners out of the image area; otherwise, artwork is in Very Good condition.
