The Little Mermaid Background Concept/ Layout Art (Walt Disney, 1989). Here is an outstanding background layout background layout piece. You can almost hear the Calypso style of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. In animation the layout process is the same as "blocking out shots" by a cinematographer in a live-action film. It is here that the background layout artists determine the camera angles, camera paths, lighting, and shading of the scene. This extraordinary piece was illustrated in beautiful detail using blue pencil on animation paper. The artwork measures 17" x 11". The piece has tape on the borders from production use and a tear in the top right corner. Artwork condition is Very Good.
