Description

The Little Mermaid Ariel and Prince Eric Model Drawing (Walt Disney, 1989). "Is he dead?" Ariel asks. "It's hard to tell," Scuttle responds, checking the Prince's 'heartbeat'. This stunning 16 field 5-peghole early model drawing can be found at approximately the 24:56 mark in the film as Ariel sits with an unconscious Prince Eric on the beach. This impressive drawing is rendered in graphite and is a wonderful look at this key moment between the two characters. These large hand-drawn figures measure about 12.75'' x 7.75'' combined and are unnumbered. A model sheet like this would have been created for artists to practice drawing the protagonists on model. This one would have been created after the model was fixed but before all the final details were set, as noted by the differences in the part of Ariel and Eric's hair and the change in the mermaid's shell bra. The drawing exhibits minor handling wear, superficial wrinkles, and pinholes. Very Good condition overall.
