    Description

The Little Mermaid Animation Drawings for Disney Consumer Products Group of 3 (Walt Disney, c.1990s).
The Little Mermaid was the first film in what has come to be known as the Disney Renaissance (1989 - 1999). The Little Mermaid was an unmitigated success for the studio, being praised for its animation, storytelling, and music. In this lot we have three superb animation drawings of the young mermaid, Ariel, who is captivated by the world upon the surface and just wants to be part of it. One piece shows Ariel and Sebastian. This drawing was rendered in graphite on 12 field animation paper. The other two pieces were rendered in graphite on onionskin paper and measure 11" x 9.5" and 9" x 11.5". This assortment of drawings all come from the Paul Wenzel collection. Paul was Disney Consumer Products first Art Director for their creative publishing team. In 2000 he retired from Disney after 42 years. The artwork is in Very Good condition.
