Description

The Lion King Scar Pair of Animation Drawings by Disney Legend Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1994). Featured in this lot are two dynamic 16 field animation drawings of Mufasa's traitorous brother Scar, each created by Disney Legend and Scar's supervising animator Andreas Deja for The Lion King. Deja began his career at Disney as a character designer on The Black Cauldron and continued as a supervising animator on everything from Beauty and the Beast to Lilo & Stitch. These amazing drawings are rendered in graphite with color pencil and are noted with a circled 32 and 33 in the lower right corner. Drawing 32 was created for the unforgettable scene at about 35:27 when Scar jumps to sink his claws into Mufasa's paws when he's dangling off a cliff in the gorge, about to drop him and watch him plummet to his death. The second is similar to a few scenes in the film, but wasn't used in the final cliff scene. Both are large on the page at about 11.25'' x 8.75'' and 8.5'' x 8''. With only light edge and handling wear and faint edge toning, the lot is in Very Good condition.
From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
