    Description

The Lion and the Mouse Storyboard Group of 20 (Max Fleischer, c. 1940). A complete set of storyboard drawings, done in comic strip style with dialogue in word balloons, for an unproduced Fleischer Studios cartoon. The artist is believed to be Tom Johnson, who worked for the Fleischer Brothers from 1930 until Paramount took over; he remained with Famous Studios until 1961, also working on Felix the Cat TV cartoons in 1958-60. The art is in ink and gray wash on paper with an average image area of 7.5" x 5.25". Each sheet has been taped to a 12 field, top 3-peghole animation paper. The average condition is Very Good. Fascinating peek into a forgotten cartoon project! From the Eric Sack Collection.
