Description

The Invisible Mouse Tom Animation Drawing Sequence of 22 (MGM, 1947). "YEEOW!" Tom gets the shock of his life after the milk from his bowl disappears right in front of his eyes in this outstanding sequence of 22 original animation drawings from the MGM Tom and Jerry short The Invisible Mouse. Loosely spoofing H.G. Wells' 1897 sci-fi novel The Invisible Man which inspired the 1933 Universal Pictures feature film by the same name, this Tom and Jerry interpretation debuted on September 27, 1947 under the direction of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera with Jerry disguising himself using some invisible ink he finds in a chemistry set and proceeding to expectedly torment Tom for the remainder of the feature. Spotted beginning near the 4:24 timestamp when viewed online, Tom can be seen on the receiving end of a face full of milk courtesy of invisible Jerry. The 22 drawings have been rendered in graphite with the majority including red pencil, and feature Tom in partial to full figures ranging in overall size from 5" x 5.25" to a frame-filling 12.5" x 6.75" across the sheets of 12 field animation paper which each bear individual frame numbers between 77 - 98 in the lower right and a corrected studio stamp reading Prod 163 Sc 30 along the peghole edge. With typical handling and edge wear including age-related toning, minor corner creasing, small edge/peghole tears, and superficial surface wrinkles, overall this dramatic sequence is in Good condition.
