Description
The Great Mouse Detective Rare Basil Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1986). "Now, Toby? To the matter at hand." Basil tells Toby, Sherlock Holmes' basset hound, as they prepare to search for Ratigan's right hand man Fidget. This rare 16 field 3-peghole sequence of Basil can be found starting at about 24:21 as Basil reaches to pull the bat's hat in his coat pocket, trying to get the adorable dog's attention. The drawings are rendered in graphite with color pencil. All are full figure and centered on the page. Two are key drawings, likely created by Basil's supervising animator Mark Henn. The drawings range from 5.25'' x 6.25'' to 5.5'' x 6'', the pages noted as 9, 31, and 88 in the lower right corner. All pages include timing charts along the right border. The first page has the most detailed with separate charts for the right arm, body, and mouth. Minor edge and handling wear, reinforced pegholes, faint smudging, and superficial wrinkles not on the image. Good to Very Good condition overall.Auction Info
