Description

The Great Mouse Detective Dr. Dawson and Lady Mouse Rough Animation Drawings Group of 4 Signed by Disney Legend Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1986). "Is this the home of the famous Basil of Baker Street?" The distressed mouse asks, dabbing at her eyes with her tissue. Dr. Dawson respectfully tips his hat to her. "Indeed it is, Miss." This group of 16-field animation drawings from the Sherlock Holmes-inspired film, based on the book Basil of Baker Street by Eve Titus, were created for the moment near the end of the movie when a new client finds the pair of mice and asks them for their help. It looks to have been made for an earlier version of the scene that did not make it into the final film, offering a rare look into the making of this moment. All the rough drawings were created and signed by Winsor McCay award winning animator and Disney Legend Andreas Deja. Deja has contributed to numerous animated films in his time at Disney ranging from The Black Cauldron to The Princess and The Frog. These spectacular rough drawings range from 6.25'' x 7'' to 6.5'' x 6.25'', rendered in graphite with color pencil. They are noted as 107, D-131, 159, and D-167. Each page has one to two timing charts in the upper right and two have dialogue notes. The drawings exhibit minor edge and handling wear, faint superficial wrinkles, reinforced pegholes, and small stains. Good to Very Good condition overall.
