Description
The Cat and the Mermouse Tom and Jerry Animation Layout Drawing (MGM, 1949). This is an outstanding layout drawing of Tom putting his sun tan lotion on and Jerry coming into the scene with his fish pole in this day-at-the-beach cartoon. This layout is from the opening scene in this cartoon, directed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. The cartoon was released on 9/3/49, 70 years ago! Some of the animation was done by Ken Muse, Ray Patterson and Irv Spence among others. This is Scene 1 from production number 194. Detailed graphite and red pencil on panoramic animation paper of 25" x 10.5" with principle artwork on 21" x 9". The level of detail to Tom's wide array of sun tan lotion is incredible. Nice ghosted images of both Tom and Jerry in red pencil on the layout. Minor handling and edge wear. Fold in middle of the layout. Beautiful piece of artwork. Very Good condition.Auction Info
