The Brave Little Tailor Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing and Studio Model Sheet with the Giant Production Cel Display (Walt Disney, 1938). "Gosh -- I dunno how to catch a giant!" says little tailor Mickey Mouse as he sits down after being sent by the King to slay the Giant. This short is considered one of Mickey Mouse's greatest roles. It was directed by Bill Roberts and released on 9/23/38. It was nominated for an Academy Award and had Fred Moore, Bill Tytla, Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas, and Les Clark among others, working on this this film. Walt Disney provided Mickey Mouse's voice also in this short. This is a great three-piece setup, with all three in one common Plexiglas-front frame. An original Studio animator's model sheet of Mickey Mouse as the Brave Little Tailor is in the top aperture. A great 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing of Mickey Mouse as he sits down to think about what he got himself into is in the middle aperture. This graphite image can be seen around the 4:18 mark into the short. Great key scene image, with a size of 5". The bottom aperture is a rare trimmed hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of the Giant. We can see this image around the 6:10 mark when he decides he wants a "SMOKE!" All three pieces are in one common frame measuring 37" x 13". Three great pieces of different types of animation art, all relating to one of Mickey's greatest roles. Frame is sold as-is; overall art condition is Very Good.Auction Info
