Description
The Black Cauldron Flewdur Fflam and the Witches "Frog" Sequence Storyboard Drawings and Sketches Group of 12 (Walt Disney, 1985). Here are some unusual storyboard drawings and sketches spotlighting the Witches and Morva. Undoubtedly, the funniest sequence in Disney's darkest fantasy is the sequence where Orwen flirts with a frightened Fflewdur and briefly turns him into a frog (who hides in Orwen's ample boson). This begins in the film at about the 51:27 timestamp when Orwen grabs Fflewdur as he tries to say goodbye. The drawings have an average size of 11" x 5"; most are photocopied line art enhanced with graphite and gray wash shading, and a few with color marker highlights. The images include: a nervous Fflewdur with Orwen ready to give him a kiss; the pair with Fflewdur flashing a shaky smile; a graphite sketch of Fflewdur in frog form leaping from Orwen's chest; Orwen snatching the frog away from Orgoch; Orwen and Orgoch; Orddu trying to separate the quarreling Orwen (holding the frog) and Orgoch; a close-up of the frog sliding down Orwen's bosom; the frog hopping, shown in three poses; Fflewdur back in human form but still in the middle of a hop; Fflewdur on all fours, frog-style; an embarrassed Fflewdur; and Orwen and Orgoch watching as Fflewdur is about to hop into a boiling hot cauldron. Most drawings have tack holes, but a few do not. Most of the drawings are in Good to Very Good condition with some handling wear, while a few are in Very Good with minor handing.
