DescriptionThe Autograph Hound Animation Drawing and Layout Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1939). The Autograph Hound is a 1939 cartoon featuring Donald Duck as an autograph hunter in Hollywood. Numerous celebrities from the 1930s are featured in this short. This is the first cartoon where Donald is seen in his blue sailor hat. The Autograph Hound features Clarence Nash providing the voice for the semi-intelligible speaking, Donald Duck. In this lot we have a fantastic caricature drawing of actor Roland Young of Topper fame who has just discovered that superstar Donald Duck is on the studio lot. We also have a superb layout drawing from the same scene which can be seen around the 5:55 mark. The layout drawing has the animators original layout form affixed and folded behind the illustration. Both pieces were hand-drawn using graphite on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The artwork has slight toning of the paper due to aging and normal edge wear. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
