    Description

The Art of Herb Ryman - Child Sketch (1954). Norm Ferguson and Herb Ryman both traveled together on the famous 1941 Walt Disney trip to South America. They must have remained friends, as in Norm's 1957 memorial funeral booklet, Herb Ryman signed his name twice. This is a graphite and pastel sketch of Norm Ferguson's young son, done on January 20, 1954. This would have been when Herb Ryman (1910 - 1989) was doing his second tour with Walt Disney Studios and feverishly working on Disneyland. It is dedicated in the bottom, "Jan. 1954 With best wishes to Norm and Mildred, Herb Ryman." This is on paper measuring 11" x 14". The right side border is torn and creased from an old framing; nothing near the image. Beautiful child's portrait, with an image size of 13". Good condition. From the Norm Ferguson Archives.
