Description

Superman Daily Planet Building Layout Drawing (Fleischer Studios/Famous Studios, c. 1940s). The magnificent Daily Planet building's front is showcased in this remarkably detailed layout drawing. The Planet's façade changed from cartoon to cartoon, but this is exactly how the building appeared in Electric Earthquake, a Fleischer Studios release from 1942. The high cost of each short eventually doomed the series; this incredible layout drawing helps to explain why - no amount of detail is spared here. The notation "Discard" is written in the lower margin - wow! The art is in graphite on trimmed animation paper measuring approximately 16" x 13", with an image area of 13.25" x 9.75". The paper has had some professional restoration, and is archivally backed with additional paper. Condition is Good, with minor fold creases visible, and with some light soiling and paper toning.
