Super Dimension Fortress Macross "Boobytrap" CVS-101 Prometheus and SDF-1 Macross Storyboard/Concept Art by Shoji Kawamori (Tatsunoko Production, 1982). The stunning storyboard/concept art featured in this lot showcases the iconic style of the famous mecha designer Shoji Kawamori created for the renowned mecha anime series Super Dimension Fortress Macross, showcasing an incredible image of the titular SDF-1 Macross and the CVS-101 Prometheus. Kawamori's stupendous work as a mechanical designer can be also seen in anime productions like Ghost in the Shell, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, and Eureka Seven as well as in videogames like the Armored Core series. This gorgeous image served to plan the scene at about the 4:11 mark of the first episode of the series "Boobytrap," and can be seen on page 97 of the Super Dimension Fortress Macross guidebook This is Animation #3. Rendered in ink, watercolor, and artist markers, this rare original piece features the scene with great detail on the 11.75" x 8.25" board, displaying many notes by the artist and co-creator of the franchise. The lot shows some toning on the top edge from the adhesive on the back and minor handling and edge wear with faint crumpling on the bottom right corner. In Very Good condition.
