Description

Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1928). Historic original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing of a very rare full figure Mickey Mouse from his first widely released theatrical cartoon. This is from where he has just finished playing the large cow's teeth like a xylophone as Peg Leg Pete comes up behind him and growls. Mickey takes a deep a breath and sighs. You can see this at about the 6:42 mark in this approximately 7:22 minute short. Ub Iwerks (1901 - 1971) did the balance of the animation on this short, which was directed by Walt Disney. Mr. Iwerks' name is on the opening title credits. This film is listed at #13 in Jerry Beck's book The 50 Greatest Cartoons. This short also was selected for preservation by the US National Film Registry in 1998. Great action breathing in this full figure image, with a size of 4". The number 473 is written in the bottom right corner, and blue stamp 463 number is on the back of sheet, in the top right corner. A pure piece of Walt Disney Studio history! Minor handling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
