Description

Stan Sakai - Usagi Yojimbo San Diego Comic Con 29" x 39" Illustration Original Art (1988). Stan Sakai was a guest at the 1988 San Diego Comic Con, and probably produced this extra-large image of his classic "rabbit ronin" comic book character, Usagi Yojimbo at the convention as a donation for the annual art auction. This amazing image of Usagi Yojimbo is drawn in black marker on Bristol board measuring approximately 29" x 39.5", with an image size of 27.75" x 31.5" featuring Miyamoto Usagi and his Tokage friend Spot (who would bravely die while protecting Zato-Ino, the blind pig). Eep! The art is loosely mounted to a 30" x 40" backing board and includes a sheet of acetate over the art for protection. If you are a fan of this long-running series (since 1984), you will flip over this magnificent vintage drawing! The art is in Very Good condition with some very light spotting and age-related toning, plus light handling wear.
