Spider Man Peter Parker Animation Drawing (Grantray-Lawrence, 1967). Spider Man's first animated TV series premiered September 9, 1967 on ABC and ran for three seasons. It had a catchy opening theme song (later covered by The Ramone) and benefited from a great deal of hands-on work by creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. This a large and very clean graphite drawing of Peter Parker who measures 8" tall on 12 field, 3-peghole animation paper. He's in his Spider-Man costume, but without his mask, and he's talking on a double antenna gadget. Spidey fans will note that the spider on his costume has six legs which was a mistake only made in Season 1 and as a result, artwork from that season is considered highly desirable by collectors. The drawing is marked "MSP 7817 Act I Sc 54" along the bottom of the page. The paper shows minor handling wear, and there is some discoloration in the upper left corner, nowhere near the art. Condition is Very Good. From the Ray Patterson Archives.
