    Description

Space Rover Marvin the Martian Proposed Storyboard (Warner Brothers, 1963). This is a complete 36-page storyboard of a Marvin the Martian cartoon proposal written and drawn by John Dunn (1919 - 1983). Dunn began his career at Walt Disney Studios, where his first story credit Man in Space received an Oscar nomination. He moved to Warner Brothers in 1960 where his first short The Pied Piper of Guadeloupe was also nominated for an Oscar. He and fellow Disney man David Detiege replaced Warner Brothers top writers Michael Maltese and Warren Foster and usually worked in the Friz Freleng and Chuck Jones units. The graphite and ink storyboard consists of four panels per page. On the title page, a John Dunn copyright is present, but on the 31st panel legendary animator and layout artist Vic Haboush (1924 - 2009) is added to the copyright. Each page measures 9.5" x 12" with supplementary panels added to some pages. They come in their original manila envelope with the title written across the front. This is an incredible piece of animation history and a rare chance to own an unseen/unproduced Marvin the Martian short. The pages show some minor handling wear; otherwise, condition is Very Good. From the Vic Haboush Archives.
