Song of the South "Br'er Rabbit and the Tar Baby" Br'er Fox and Br'er Rabbit Original Storyboard Art Attributed to Bill Peet (Walt Disney, 1946). "...it sure looked like the end of the finish for poor old Br'er Rabbit 'cause old Br'er Fox was fixing to barbecue him for dinner right then and there." From Song of the South, we present a rare 7.5'' x 5'' pastel storyboard of Br'er Fox and Br'er Rabbit during one of their interactions in the "Br'er Rabbit and the Tar Baby" segment. The segment centered around Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear's plan to catch Br'er Rabbit by created a decoy made of tar. It worked, too, because Br'er Rabbit was soon encased in the tar and unable to move while Br'er Fox whipped up a bit of firewood at about 54:03, leaving Br'er Rabbit to improvise so he could live to see another day. This storyboard is a hard-to-find piece of the film attributed to longtime story artist and Disney Legend Bill Peet (1915 - 2002), who worked on numerous features from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to The jungle Book. It is displayed in a 15'' x 13'' Plexiglas-fronted frame. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. With pinholes, faint toning, and light handling and edge wear the lot is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
