Description
Society Dog Show Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1939). Many Disney greats worked on the short, Society Dog Show including Shamus Culhane, Fred Moore, John Lounsbery, and Norm Ferguson, and it certainly shows in the results! Bill Roberts directs this short subject film, released on 2/3/39. After suffering numerous indignities, Pluto finally loses his temper, and ends up ripping the seat out of the snobby judge's pants! But not before Mickey tells the judge, "He's a very fine dog sir, and he's smart!" You will find this drawing around the 4:30 mark in the film as the sheepish Mickey tries to make a good impression on the judge. The image of Mickey measures roughly 5" tall on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The artwork was rendered in graphite with red pencil and numbered 42. Mild age-related toning and normal edge wear. This is a wonderful image of Mickey Mouse and would make a nice addition to any animation art collection. Very Good condition.Auction Info
