DescriptionSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs Storyboard Art by Gustav Tenggren (Walt Disney, 1937). Hello...did I frighten you? Wait, wait. Please don't run away!" says the Prince after startling Snow White at the well. This is an exceptional pair of Gustaf Tenggren concept storyboards from that scene. Gustaf Tenggren (1896 - 1970) was hired by Disney in 1936 and became Chief Illustrator and one of the art directors on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. His work was used in theatrical release posters, lobby cards, and a two month series in Good Housekeeping Magazine prior to the movie's release. This historic pair of storyboards is rendered in gouache on light board. Similar images can be seen on pages 152 and 153 in the book Disney - They Drew As They Pleased - The Hidden Art of Disney's Golden Age: The 1930's by Didier Ghez. Other Tenggren images from this scene are also on pages 65 and 66 of The Walt Disney Film Archives: The Animated Movies 1921 - 1968 published by Taschen. These museum-worthy 6" x 5" Tenggren originals share a common frame of 14.5" x 21". Condition is Very Good and frame is sold as-is.
