DescriptionSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937).
"Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow." As a young child, Snow White's vain and wicked stepmother the Evil Queen feared that one day Snow White's beauty would surpass her own. So, she dressed Snow White in rags and forced her to work as a scullery maid to try to quench her growing beauty. Each day, the Queen consulted her magic mirror asking, "Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" As long as the Mirror answered, "You are the fairest one of all," Snow White was safe from her stepmother's cruel jealousy. From Walt Disney's 1937 classic film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, we have a sensational production of the film's protagonist, Snow White. The drawing was rendered in graphite with red pencil on animation paper. Snow White stands 7" tall in this framed piece. The frame measures 18" x 18" with a mat opening of 9" x 9". Frame sold as-is. Included in the frame is a plaque that reads, "Snow White Original Production Drawing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1937." Also included in the frame are signatures of two of "Walt's Nine Old Men" Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas who animated all seven of the dwarfs. Thomas and Johnston were also profiled in the 1995 documentary Frank and Ollie, which screened at the 20th Toronto International Film Festival. This is a fantastic piece of animation art from Walt Disney's cinematic masterpiece. The artwork is in Very Good condition.
