    Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "Maybe you know somewhere I could stay?" Snow White suggests to her new forest friends. In this scene, she has just gained the trust of the timid woodland creatures. Initially frightened away by her presence, they can sense her innate goodness and quickly warm up to her. Ultimately, they do lead her to "a place she can stay", the Dwarfs' cottage! Animation legend Grim Natwick left his mark on many of the great Hollywood Studios - and was largely responsible for the groundbreaking development of Snow White's lifelike design and graceful movement. One of the few able to rise to Disney's exacting standards, he gave the notoriously hard-to-please producer exactly what he asked for in the realistic depiction of Disney's inaugural princess - and helped to create an international heroine in the process. Large, clear image of Snow White measures 6.5" tall. She is rendered in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The paper has been stamped "Prod. 2001, Seq. 3, Scene 21" at the lower left and numbered 54 at bottom right. Minor handling; image unaffected. In Fine condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
